As sporadic cases of chickenpox have recently been reported on campus, we ask all members of the university community to remain vigilant and follow the preventive measures outlined below. These measures are intended to strengthen campus infection prevention, reduce the risk of transmission, and protect the health and safety of everyone on campus.
Chickenpox is highly contagious and is primarily transmitted through respiratory droplets and direct contact. Please observe the following precautions:
1. Be Alert for Symptoms and Seek Medical Attention Promptly
If you develop a fever, rash, blisters, or other symptoms suggestive of chickenpox, please stay away from campus, refrain from attending work or classes and participating in group activities, and seek medical evaluation as soon as possible to reduce the risk of transmission.
If you notice that a fellow student or colleague has symptoms suggestive of chickenpox, please kindly encourage them to seek medical attention promptly. You may also report the situation to the Health and Counseling Center to facilitate follow-up and appropriate preventive measures.
2. Maintain Environmental Cleanliness and Disinfection
All university units and members of the campus community are encouraged to help maintain a clean and hygienic environment in classrooms and shared spaces.
Frequently touched surfaces, including desks, chairs, podiums, doorknobs, window handles, elevator buttons, stair railings, and other high-contact areas, should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
3. Avoid Sharing Personal Items
Do not share towels, eating utensils, or personal items that come into close contact with the body. Avoid sharing food or eating from the same serving portions to help reduce the risk of transmission.
4. Check Your Chickenpox Vaccination Status
Receiving the chickenpox vaccine can reduce the risk of infection and severe illness. Please check your vaccination records. If you have questions about your vaccination status or relevant preventive measures, please consult a healthcare provider or contact the Health and Counseling Center.
5. Practice Good Personal Health Management
Please get sufficient rest, maintain a balanced diet, wash your hands frequently, and wear a mask when appropriate.
If you have recently returned from overseas, please pay attention to your health condition. If you develop any suspected symptoms or feel unwell, seek medical evaluation promptly.
6. Support Health Education and Report Suspected Cases
If you notice that a student or colleague has a fever, rash, blisters, or other symptoms suggestive of chickenpox, or become aware of any situation requiring further clarification or assistance, please report it to the Health and Counseling Center. This will help the university assess the situation promptly and arrange appropriate follow-up measures.
